Anyone know a good !Free Software solution for multi-user peer-to-peer folder synchronisation that is platform independent & user friendly?
-
@greve you may be interested in http://jakeapp.com/ (i haven't tried yet)

@hugoroy Thanks. This indeed looks much like what I was looking for. But why oh why are all these applications in Java?

Cross plattform synchronisation of folders and notes via XMPP (Jabber): Jake http://jakeapp.com/ (via @greve/@hugoroy)

@greve - Java is platform independent. And file operations are feectively the only thing you need. Why bother with problems? ;-_
-
@greve - BTW what is the solution hugoroy prefers?
-
@jwildeboer @hugoroy pointed me to http://jakeapp.com which seems interesting, because it uses XMPP for synchronisation.
-
@jwildeboer In my experience Java is typically slow, fat & badly integrated into the UI. But you are right it does this equally everywhere.
