    I disabled wireless on my !eeepc under !ubuntu 10.04 now its greyed out & won't change with the fn+f2 combo any ideas?

      @nathaniel73 re-enable it using network manager. I would imagine the bios wouldn't know what to do if the OS turned it off...

      @nathaniel73 Try to do it through the BIOS not fn-f2. 9.10 used to have a bug - shutdown would kill wireless unless re-enabled before boot!

      @nathaniel73: You may try out this command 'sudo rfkill unblock wifi'

      @nathaniel73 eeepc has a weird card. try rebooting, hiting the wireless combo then rebooting again. Very frustrating, but only fix i know of

      @benanov thankyou for that I hadn't thought of the bios setting it was disabled as you predicted, All better now though, thanks again

      @darwinsurvivor Thanks for the information I actually found the wlan was disabled in the bios & once fixed is back working again. Cheers

      @nathaniel73 i get that behaviour every time i let the battery die on my laptop or one of our netbooks.
