Is the !ArchLinux really reliable? There is the possibility of an update to break the system?

@helderc well, it shouldn't if you check the blog before updating. If you just update blindly, it may happen now and then,
-
@helderc If you're using testing and don't read the mailings lists then yes, an update could break it ;)
-
@mo6020 lol! This is a really good statistics!
-
@helderc the possibility exists, just like in any other distro ;)
-
@helderc I barely have anything installed on there tho, I guess that probability rises exponentially depending on how much you've go (...)
-
@helderc (...) on there...
-
@helderc updates of kernel&xorg might, but other than that it is quite stable. u just wait a bit with the updates of those pkgs and ur fine
-
@helderc Nothing that couldn't be solved by rolling back a package update, a 30 second process. I can't recall X ever breaking once.
-
@helderc It tends to do pretty well really. Using testing though, at one point coreutils was broke on me.
-
@helderc one thing that bothers me (which I filed a feature request for) is kernel updates replacing the current kernel: http://is.gd/iJD3V
-
@helderc Yes, it's reliable for me Sometimes an update has broken my graphical session but I only do a downgrade and everything works again.
-
@helderc haven't had it happen yet, every so often a package may stop working, but usually fixed within a day
-
@helderc any update has the potential to break something. anyone who tells you otherwise is a fanboy or hasn't been unlucky yet
