@cemb @simoncolumbus Jabber Inc never had an open source server to my knowledge. Their server is called XCP.

@metajack RE FB backlash, I wasn't backlashing. Just mentioning that their UI changes may have had an effect on some apps e.g. Calliflower

@metajack Saw an instance of that just now on GillmorGang when one of the Facebook folks made mention of the Cisco acq.

@metajack: Ari is more product focused, the guys on the GG today were infrastructure and they *are* doing XMPP.

@metajack I've always been guilty of using XMPP and Jabber as synonyms. That'll stop as of today. ;-)

@metajack: don't know.They said that they are extending chat and existing feeds to XMPP for arbitrary clients and other web sites.

@kshep yeah I keep treating xmpp and jabber as same thing as well. neither name is convincing friends to use xmpp instead of AIM
