installed #dmenu in Fedora LXDE, just gives me a grey bar, not populated by commands yet. Hoped it would start working by itself. !dwm

@chriswaterguy M-p to start (default in dwm), then start typing the command?

@onedot does "M-p" mean "Super+P"? If so, doesn't work. I tried running the dmenu command, that gives an empty grey bar, typing doesn't help

@chriswaterguy M-p is Meta+p, where Meta is, on pretty much any modern system, Alt.

@psquid @onedot Ah, thanks. Alt+p doesn't do anything either - perhaps that's how it works within !dwm, rather than in a different desktop?

@onedot Found the problem - I was running "dmenu" but needs to be dmenu_run. Now just have to assign a keyboard shortcut. !dwm #dmenu

@chriswaterguy Default dwm has all that.. and you don't need to run dmenu_run manually as it's defined in config.h.

Dug out the #dmenu settings from !Crunchbang (in the rc.xml file, !Openbox config). Now have #dmenu working nicely, white on black. !dwm
