@decodedthought gwibber seems to be most used now !Fedora

@decodedthought i think most gnomeists likes gwibber. I personally prefer pino or even choqok. If you use chromium, you'd like chromed-bird.

@tzk pino still doesn't have the oAuth i believe :P

@rahulsundaram i just do the normal yum install gwibber rite?

@decodedthought yes. try before asking. Use fedora-list or fedoraforum.org for questions

@rahulsundaram it is funny you say this, as you, I and @tzk use pino

@gbraad I don't really use twitter. I assume regular users do

@decodedthought I agree with @rahulsundaram - I think most would say !Gwibber for !Gnome. I use !KDE so I choose choqok.

@gbraad I don't merely use Pino. I am also the co-maintainer for it :-) Twitter support got broken due to oauth though

@rahulsundaram me neither... and if I need, the web interface does what it should do.

@3seas2: yeah... if i were using kde choqok would have certainly been my choice

@decodedthought you could use pino for identi.ca (very lightweight), and there are addons for twitter, like chromed-bird or: ur1.ca/2obnb

@rahulsundaram I had very bad experience with !gwibber (it more often crash on startup then work) on !gentoo (over several major versions).

@mpiechotka I can't help with that. If !gwibber had any issues in !Fedora, I would be interested in that

@rahulsundaram saw http://is.gd/jwzkO Any way to make Pino work with a proxy without using a wrapper (like proxychains)?

@carlg I noticed that. the twitter integration is troubled due to oauth. can't blame the developers of #Pino

@mpiechotka: use the version from @tante overlay and should work as a charm. Don't get me started about the main tree !gentoo ebuild.

@gbraad You can. OAuth has been around for a while and is the superior solution. Anyway, workaround: http://ur1.ca/2oidq (supertweet howto)

@clacke I know about supertweet from @mrblog. but it wasn't the subject of the real bug. One user posted a bad response; taking the thread.

@flameeyes both 2.32.0.2 and 2.91 from @tante have crashing gwibber-service (so does !gentoo). However !pino looks promising.

@mpiechotka: uhm just out of curiosity would you mind trying rebuilding pycurl and tell me if it's still a problem?

    • Jürgen Geuter Jürgen Geuter Maciej Piechotka

@mpiechotka: If you wanna do me a favor: before starting Gwibber, start "gwibber-service -o -d" in a terminal and send me the output. Thanks

@rahulsundaram Fedora's? Possibly - there were some bugs on !launchpad before I gave up.

@mpiechotka Yeah. I haven't checked other bug trackers.
