@derkatzenbund @bigbrovar pulse is a mixer. if you don't have hw mixing, only one app's sound at a time !kde !linux
-
@mathstuf actually 'mixer' is the wrong term if you talk about 'PulseAudio' = rather "sound server" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PulseAudio
-
@buckybit ah, was mistaken, same effect though; kde still doesn't want to support it :( gsoc project for pa in kmix wasn't accepted
-
@mathstuf shouldn't dmix take care of this ?
-
@mathstuf alsa is able to do software mixing
-
@mathstuf bummer...so it was PulseAudio instead of aRts, alsa, oss, jack etc... "one, to rule them all project?" For KDE 4.3+?
-
@oceanwatcher Have you tried xrandr from the console?
-
@jefferai @mathstuff @derkatzenhund @bigrovar Although it sucks, I couldn't find anything better than PulseAudio yet to stream sound via TCP
-
@buckybit jack is professional, not desktop use cases, arts is dead, as is oss (closing up source wasn't good), not sure whats up with dmix
