@candrews Is there any difference now between publishing to a FB users stream and updating a FB users status? Used to be.

@zach there is. publishing a story only pushes it to your newsfeed. updating the FB status is more permanent/visible

@zach I don't believe so. There appears to be no difference on facebook pages. Last time they changed layouts, the difference went away.

@zach it doesn't look the same, but still having it in the actual top status box is nice, also when looking in chat, seeing the status...

@edythemighty I can't find how to update my "status" on FB any more. Now the box above my stream says "Share" and has attachment buttons.

@zach just "sharing" a string of text makes that your status

@edythemighty You're right! That's really stupid! Maybe the 'right thing' w/FB would be: status update if text-only, publish if attachment.

@zach yep. most are probably used to clicking blindly anyway :D

@edythemighty Double stupidity: there's no way to ask the FB user for all the permissions you need in one go. You have to repeatedly prompt.
