Checking out opendd.net. It would be nice to make !laconica accounts more portable.

@evan Great! Being able to export/import all data (followers, following, notices, tags, everything) from/to !Laconica installs is crucial!

@forteller +1 ... for me that is the killer feature. When it's possible I'll start playing with my own install of laconica.

@forteller I think @chrismessina is wrong. 1) there's no other exchange format 2) nobody supports other formats either. 3) Us + Elgg = 2!

@ronkjeffries We have 4 dev employees, 50 unique devs on Laconica. Add in translators, documentors, & Web helpers, more like team of >100.

@evan Do you support OpenDD? Has anyone used it? When I looked at it, it seemed to lack useful specifics. Would love to be proven wrong!

@forteller dataportability.org is supposed to be more about marketing and "telling the story" than endorsing any specific format.

@chrismessina as far as I know OpenDD is not in use by anyone but Elgg. We need an internal import-export format; no other seems better.
