      @ikaruga2099 learn it! the motiv. comes alone: to filtering traffic, NATting Inet traf. to your lan, or masquerade the traf from lan to Inet

      @ikaruga2099 That aside, I recommend skipping iptables and learning a rules compiler. Like Shorewall http://www.shorewall.net/

      @samatjain and then iptables seems aimed for computers running as routers which is not me.... so correct me if i'm wrong

      @ikaruga2099 iptables is so low-level, I can't say it's aimed at anything. There are "personal" firewall features in there
