@chriswaterguy !CC licenses are inappropriate for software; suitability for docs inversely proportional to how much you care about GFDL ;).

@chriswaterguy This is one of my few disagreements with the !FSF. The FDL is really a pain in many aspects and CC-BY-SA seems to work for me

@prosario2000, ðe FDL was meant for ſoftware documentation in general. Not ðe ſame goals.

@smaffulli @chriswaterguy Who licenses their software under CC-BY licenses? Thats about as flawed as GPLing your docs.

@chriswaterguy !FSF is correct,though,that you should use the GPL instead of !CC in the case of software. CC agrees with that.

@nyergler: I don't know if your comment about docs is true - I care about the GFDL, but I think CC is better for docs

@prcutler It was somewhat in jest; if you care, compatibility may matter. I don't care, ergo compat with GFDL non-issue, ergo CC for docs.

@leandrod yeah, but first, even RMS recommends using FDL for other fields, not just software, and second, the FDL is so messed up ...

@prcutler I checked, but I can't find if CC-BY-SA 3.0 is GPL compatible. CC-BY-SA 2.0 is not GPL compatible. Bleh. CC for docs ftw, tho.

@chriswaterguy That case to me sounds like copyright zealotism. I doubt a court would ever consider such case in real life. Lawyers?
