Didn't realize that marking multiple-choice questions could be somewhat relaxing. #WhoKnew?
-
@enkerli Doesn't Concordia have the whole scantron automated marking of multiple-choice?
-
@vanden It does. But Scantron makes my skin curl.
-
@enkerli Fair enough. Not that I am judging, but multiple choice makes my skin curl :-) (Of course, this view makes for sucky weekends!)
-
@enkerli @vanden http://www.scantron.com/store/ Preparing students to play 6/49 ??
-
@enkerli I do believe that intellectually serious mc questions can be done for many fields. But, hard. Not obviously possible in philosophy.
-
@vanden Agreed. Building appropriate MCQs is a difficult skill to acquire. It can even be rewarding, though.
-
@vanden A trick I use, though, is to build some MCQs with students, in class. Makes for a learning experience.
-
@vanden By the by, what is ever obviously possible, in philosophy courses?
-
@enkerli I did start the snark, so I'll have to take that. :-) It will give us something to talk about over lunch.
-
@vanden Exactly. Besides, as a relativist, I meant as an actual question. Snarky, but honest.
-
@enkerli While the relativism is #disturbing, that's the spirit in which I took t/ question. 140chs inadequate to discuss. Over comestibles.
-
@vanden Thanks for coming to our campus to discuss #relativism and #Quine.
-
@enkerli It was much fun; thanks for the unexpected treat.
