@swathe i can't see "the point" in running a hardware-specific distro. why not tweak your preferred desktop distro to suit?

@swathe i hope to use my desktop linux distro, but i may need to run it from a usb key, and i'm unsure if my distro allows this. we'll see!

@swathe it's no better or worse, perhaps than many distros. after trying many (including ubuntu) i found that it suits me best.

@phayz It looks quite nice and i like pacman. Debian and ubuntu just seem to fit me despite the noobery stigma buntu has.

@swathe that's the beauty of FLOSS - you choose Debian/Ubuntu, i choose Frugalware and we're both happy.

@swathe it sometimes means that the userbase is splintered, but i don't think anyone would be without the advantages of choice.
