   what are the advantages of #linuxmint compared to #debian? (I'm looking for an !ubuntu replacement with perfect upstream !gnome support)

     @ploum it's released more often, that means that thesoftware is more up-to-date.

     @ploum linuxmint ships with its own package manager and update manager aswell as backup software and some other custom software + design

     @ploum and one important thing I forgot to mention. LinuxMint Debian Edition is based on Unstable(Sid) with some Experimental stuff aswell

     @ploum: Il me semble que Linux Mint possède plusieurs logiciels propriétaires intégrés (Flash par exemple). Contrairement à Debian.
