@tychoish it's always IRCsome when someone pronounces a acronym wrong, isn't it? Or at least funny.
-
@spinochet: Eye Arrrr Sea around where I live!
-
@spinochet, I generally just say the letters; eye-are-see, and this seems to be conventional
-
@djharuko but for some reason people say et-see rather than eee-tea-see for /etc/ so go figure
-
@tychoish Now for /etc, I've pronounced it both ways. What about /usr? I've heard it both as slash-user and slash-uh-ser.
-
@tychoish: I call /etc slash et cetera, personally. /usr is user rather than slash you ess are for me, too. People, eh? :-)
-
@alaricsp yeah, user for /usr for sure. I think the pronounciation of /etc is encumbered by soundspace colision with the etsy website.
-
@spinochet: URL is You Are Ell round these parts. But how to say www? I call it whuwhuwhu.
-
@alaricsp definitely dubya dubya dubya
-
Susan Pinochet likes this.

Heh, sometimes the number of xterm windows I have open is borderline absurd
