@tychoish it's always IRCsome when someone pronounces a acronym wrong, isn't it? Or at least funny.

@spinochet: Eye Arrrr Sea around where I live!

@spinochet, I generally just say the letters; eye-are-see, and this seems to be conventional

@spinochet I'd have to agree with @tychoish in that you just pronounce the letters individually. That's how I've always heard it.

@djharuko but for some reason people say et-see rather than eee-tea-see for /etc/ so go figure

@tychoish Now for /etc, I've pronounced it both ways. What about /usr? I've heard it both as slash-user and slash-uh-ser.

@tychoish: I call /etc slash et cetera, personally. /usr is user rather than slash you ess are for me, too. People, eh? :-)

@alaricsp yeah, user for /usr for sure. I think the pronounciation of /etc is encumbered by soundspace colision with the etsy website.

@alaricsp @tychoish @djharuko OK, then. I assume you all also think I should not rhyme URL with Earl either. :-)

@spinochet: URL is You Are Ell round these parts. But how to say www? I call it whuwhuwhu.

@spinochet @tychoish No, that one is spelt U-R-L, but it's pronounced "throatwobbler mangrove".
