      @ddevine my last two were ThinkPads, but not sure if they're on special right now :). & their strengths seem watered down in late models.

      @chriswaterguy Incomplete Linux drivers and low performance (relative to ATi/Nvidia). Don't need advanced 3D games/modelling? its fine.

      @chriswaterguy Does videos, composited desktop and basic 3D games just fine. My x61 plays Armacycles/Minecraft and lets me log into EVE.

      @chriswaterguy look around for refurbished ThinkPads (with warranty) - should be able to pick up something aesthetically new for $500.
