@fontana Some fans would like change of sparring partners as in that match you punch way below your weight. No, it's not a self-nomination.
-
@lnxwalt280 +1 @bkuhn @fontana
-
@fontana, I like how @mindspillage is calling them the "bkuhn & fontana dialogues". That is seriously feeding my ego in a !disturbing way.

@fontana, I was fantasizing more re: idea of Free Software entusiasts hundreds of years from now reenacting the famous Fontana/Kuhn debates.
-
@fontana, it was that fantastical idea that led me to realize @mindspillage's comment sent my ego momentarily out of control.
-
@mindspillage, it's uncanny you say that, b/c I dreamed last night @fontana & I were trying to outdo each other quoting "Waiting for Godot".
-
@bkuhn makes me want to setup 2 different festival voices, record them, and run it as a podcast!

@fontana, as for "no one" remembering RMS/Gosling debates,I admit I don't *remember* them (as in,I didn't read in real time),but I read them
-
@bkuhn obviously, your subconscious is leaking information. You should make more of an effort to secure it.
-
@bkuhn Gosling's side of the story is interesting & enlightening & I encourage you to interview him.
-
@fontana I suspect, a coherent story that connects the fact is what would be appealing about such a book. Not the facts themselves
-
@fontana They aren't even mentioned in the FaiF book. Author did not approach Gosling AFAIK.
-
@bkuhn what are these rms/gosling debates? url?
-
@fontana, not just my memory. Most all of the relevant people are still alive. We can interview them & write an amazing history book.

@bkuhn You're such a geek! LOL! :D
-
@bkuhn A friend and I have been considering a similar book (Java & Sun & stuff, don't worry!) Maybe we should pool research?
-
@bkuhn people in computing have too little understanding of history -- I support the idea of a free software history book!
-
@ Are you saying @bkuhn is having @mindspillage?
