@generyan1 My mum has a Dell Mini 9 and it's really good. Only problem I have is the Dell customized Ubuntu seems to get a lot of updates..

@generyan1 They have their own repos I presume and often you'll get 100 updates in one go. My other Ubuntu machines don't get them

@dantheman dont you think some updates are better than completely ignoring the platform? i do take your point though.

@generyan1 The Dell Ubuntu works well but my advice would be buy one and stick Ubuntu Netbook Remix on it. It's easy to do and it rocks.

@dantheman: Perhaps optimised packages, compiled for the hardware? Somehow I don't think they'd care that much but you never know!

@tdobson Sure, I like the Mini 9 and it's good that they sell it with Ubuntu. Of course! Getting 300mb of updates a week is weird though

@tdobson Often my mum will say, "I had to spend an hour updating the computer today" and my Ubuntu machines haven't had any updates. Weird

@seawolf Possibly. There's definitely something different going on. It's not a problem and of course updates are generally a good thing

@dantheman unr feels kinda incomplete tho. I just keep a standard Mint 7 install on my Wind. But thats just me.

@elnerdodegeek The good thing is there's so many options for these netbooks. UNR, Crunchee, EasyPeasy or anything you want really :)
