      @stav Yes. Clearly you're a math guy :)

    • laurelrusswurm laurelrusswurm Stav Prodromou

      @stav Originally I thought I'd roll some scenes into bigger chapters, but when deciding to serialize it seemed natural to leave this way...

      @laurelrusswurm I'm not good on serialization. I'll wait till Columbus Day (12 October) & DL all segments. Then I'll read it on my !tablet.

      @stav ... and in fact this is working out very well since everything else is taking so much longer than I thought. !silver

      @laurelrusswurm The scenes that I have read have been good teasers.

      @stav Thanks. I think !InconstantMoon is a good book, my natural writer's insecurity has been tempered by excellent beta reader feedback.

    • laurelrusswurm laurelrusswurm Stav Prodromou

      @stav It doesn't get much better than beta-readers apologizing for missing egregious typos because they were too into the story :)

      @stav The real test will be if my 86 year old mystery-fan aunt - who doesn't even have an internet connection - can follow the story :)

      @laurelrusswurm Now that's cool. SO you found libreoffice easy to use?

      about a year ago
    • laurelrusswurm laurelrusswurm Self Publishing , LibreOffice , mrs. stench

      @lstench !LibreOffice is great. I worked hard 2 address known issues, and it worked. I hope to blog a how-to for other !fsw users !SelfPub

      @laurelrusswurm Sure it is, and when TDF forked OO, it improved vastly.

      @laurelrusswurm Yes always pass on the knowledge what issues?

      about a year ago
    • laurelrusswurm laurelrusswurm mrs. stench

      @lstench formatting & style issues ... Using Liberation Sans and Liberation Serif in lieu of recommended proprietary Garamond or Arial !fsw

      about a year ago
    • mrs. stench mrs. stench

      @laurelrusswurm recommended why?

      about a year ago
    • laurelrusswurm laurelrusswurm mrs. stench

      @lstench Simple is best when you're planning to distribute across multiple platforms; the man who started Smashwords knows Word, ∴M$ fonts

      about a year ago
    • laurelrusswurm laurelrusswurm mrs. stench

      @lstench They are trying very hard to open it up, pass along advice re OO where they can... Smashwords is pretty awesome, DRM free 2

      about a year ago
    • laurelrusswurm laurelrusswurm LibreOffice , agentsmith

      @agentsmith I haven't done anything like a scientific comparison, but it certainly seems like !LibreOffice wks better than !OpenOffice !fsw

    • mrs. stench mrs. stench

      @laurelrusswurm Oh got ya, I thought you meant libreoffice was pushing proprietary fonts. makes sense now.

      about a year ago
    • laurelrusswurm laurelrusswurm mrs. stench

      @lstench No, I only use only free fonts in LibreOffice... so chose to see if #RedHat's Liberation Fonts would fly in SmashWords & they did

      @laurelrusswurm Glad to hear it worked out, doesn't it feel good to be able to do things the OS way?

      about a year ago
    • laurelrusswurm laurelrusswurm mrs. stench

      @lstench Yes, I am pleased that I wasn't forced to use Microsft Fonts. Unfortunately it seems the only payment method of payment is Paypal.
