@fontana, BTW, #Goucher was an all womens' school which changed that in the 1980s. It was the #Balmur version of #Simmons in some ways.

@fontana, and before you say "WTF?!?!", note that there is a #Brooklyn in #Balmur: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brooklyn,_Baltimore

I confused @ossguy & @kaz last week by making reference to #Essex (meaning one near #Balmur, not in England): http://ur1.ca/4ibyg

@fontana dude come on Essex can't suck that bad :)
-
@bkuhn Mason-Dixon. That makes me think of "Sailing to Philadelphia" :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylbMDG26Bkw

@bkuhn I thought Maryland was one of those border, neutral states in the Civil War? But thanks for correcting me. Seriously.
-
@loug,it's complicated; I was exaggerating. MD was incredibly important to Lincoln so that DC wasn't cut off. MD voted to emancipate mid war

@fontana, honestly, I never used to say "hon". As I said, yesterday I was imitating my grandmother's accent. She ended every sentence w/ it.
-
@fontana,why !disturbing to want to sound educated? BTW, @rms has straightforward Manhattan accent, which sounds reasonable albeit aggressive
-
@fontana It would be really great if you hailed from Montana. Then you would be 'Richard Fontana from Montana'. Did you lose the accent ?
-
@fontana are you saying the classism is bad or the accent minimization or both?
