    It always amazes me how some companies who promote diversity and community,also promote violent and sexist video games/graphics.!gnu !linux

      @tylana It amazes me that people who promote diversity and community are sometimes the ones who try to force their over-PCness on me.

      @tylana and sometimes those same people are the ones who have twisted something that is normal into being 'sick' in their own twisted minds.

      @tylana personal views are highly subjective.

      I don't force anything on anyone. People can play video games that promote rape and killing all they want to,but I don't have to like it.

      @ddevine true,and the more education one has,the clearer one can see the socialimpactof patriarchal,chauvinistic,and misogynistic videogames

      @tylana potentially.

      @ddevine yep ;)

      @tylana ...but everybody knows its perfectly fine for women to be sexist. It's not sexism if it comes from a woman...

      @tylana men are constantly singled out when it comes to sexism. PC pushers commonly try to replace the double standard with their own.

      @ddevine Women can be sexists too, for sure.

      Sunday, 26-Jun-11 06:48:26 UTC
    • Daniel Devine Daniel Devine

      @tylana and yet by my observations, women being sexist is socially acceptable. Incorrectly classified games are the least of our worries.

      @ddevine @ddevine It definitely goes both ways - and yes there are bigger worries - just something for people and parents to think about.

      @tylana Are you the same opinion of writters who release books on said topics? Incredibly narrow-mided.

      @ddevine By "the least of our worries" are you suggesting they're not a worry? (Just following the logic of the argument.) /cc @tylana

      @chriswaterguy *personally* I'm not worried but if they would swallow their pride and classify games properly there would be no issues.

    • Daniel Devine Daniel Devine Chris Watkins

      @chriswaterguy its more of a problem in Australia than the USA. They grossly mis-classify to be able to get R18 games into the market.

      @zapadlo yes,I mustbe narrow-minded to notlike videogames that depict women as slaves,murdervictims,and sex toys w/ missle-sized boobs geesh

      @tylana Commentaries on the today's society, show your dislike for that, not the products depicting it. Hate artists for painting war too?

      Sunday, 26-Jun-11 18:07:43 UTC
    • Tylana Tylana George Angel

      @zapadlo I never said I hated anyone. People are free to draw their own conclusions. I wasn't posting about paintings, by the way.

      @tylana So its okay for writters and painters to depict society, but not for game makers lest they are percieved sexist?

      Sunday, 26-Jun-11 18:20:29 UTC
    • Tylana Tylana George Angel

      @zapadlo define "depict" :)

      @tylana Portray, describe, delineate :)

      Sunday, 26-Jun-11 18:43:34 UTC
    • Tylana Tylana George Angel

      @zapadlo The problem with many video games is how they portray gender stereotypes and encourage violence against women.

    • George Angel George Angel

      @tylana They make what people buy, do we blame supermarkets for selling non-organic foods?

      Sunday, 26-Jun-11 19:32:19 UTC
    • Tylana Tylana George Angel

      @zapadlo It isn't about blaming, it is about critical thinking. People have a choice: I do think there is a market for respectful games. :)
