@papabean yup! Sorry if it didn't go where it was supposed to!

@papabean Good call! Hmm, how do we do that? 1). Stop paying people who may depend on their activities as spammers to make rent?
-
@papabean It seems to me a bit like telling the sweat-shop worker they can't work there anymore.
-
@papabean Good ideas all. I clicked on that link because I thought it looked interesting. I do ALL the rest of the stuff you say
-
@papabean but you'll have to explain the monkey thing!
-
@papabean Right, so who does?
-
@papabean So let's take that analogy to the spam question. What's being "sold" mostly?
-
@papabean That's a great answer!
-
@papabean what do you think about anti-spam legislation?
-
@papabean Yep, I work in social and marcom research and can attest that they do try to sell lists to companies in that field.
-
@papabean ok, so if I've understood, it's only up to the people who use the web to change their behaviour?
-
@papabean Was it clear to you that your information was being used to generate targeted ads and that it was being sold to third parties?
-
@papabean Do you think most people know AND do they care?
-
@papabean Why don't they care? I guess it's my own professional deformation, but I like to know what information I`m mediating about myself
-
@papabean Oh, I'd heard about that one. The example of the photo of the guy with the aviator glasses getting shown an ad for them, right?
-
@papabean Ever feel you're missing out on something by not being on FB? I`m not on it and I know I miss messages for stuff.
-
@papabean Thanks for letting me know! Who knows, maybe they're waiting to start #crowdsourcing on that one;-)
-
@papabean just sent you a link about the very issue we discussed the other day. Canada is a bit different.
-
@papabean I understand Canadian PIPEDA has a stricter definition of personal info and opt-in rather than opt-out requirements for collection
