@bkuhn It does make it easier sometimes. (I figure you agree with that, since Conservancy also optionally accepts assignments.)

@allisonrandal, #Conservancy accepts assignment only when developers request it. Will #Harmony agreements be similarly optional by default?
-
@bkuhn It's up to the project to decide how to use Harmony, we only provide carefully vetted templates.
-
@allisonrandal, is it #Harmony's position, then, that project *developers* rather than their *companies* must decide to implement it?
-
@bkuhn Harmony takes no position on who sets project policy or makes project decisions. That's up to the project too.
-
@allisonrandal, so I think that comes down to why I am so !disturbed by #Harmony. They are moral documents written in an amoral way.
-
@allisonrandal, yes, I understand the point. But just like budgets reflect a moral position, so do #CLA documents. Yet, #Harmony is amoral.
-
@allisonrandal,I did say amoral, not immoral. #Harmony's dominated by companies who are generally looking to exploit Free Software for profit
-
@allisonrandal, but it does: it favors the philosophy that a #CLA that's beyond inbound=outbound is desirable. It's existence is a position.
-
@bkuhn That CLA/CAA is a valid option for projects to choose if they desire? Sure, otherwise why spend the effort drafting?
