     @bugabundo "Use Firefox" is hardly a fix. Firefox just doesn't show the errors.

     @bugabundo I can't reproduce in a Chromium snapshot or in #webkit-based !uzbl. Chromium must be ignoring the encoding. File a bug with them?

     @holizz most likely because the nickname becomes part of URLs - URLs can not contain spaces, and URL i18n is not easy: KISS

     @marjoleink Main caveat for UTF-8 names in !laconica: some URIs may be impossible to type manually (workaround: use people search).

     @holizz I've used UTF URL's quite a bit and didn't have a problem with them. Most of the time we don't type them out anyway
