@dotshlash yeah and it in the forefront of many browser innovations like tabs, download managers, etc
-
@bigbrovar Yeah, and if I remember correctly it was the first out with the omnibar, not to mention that it renders the fastest
-
@bigbrovar And the guys have humor http://youtu.be/ZdirsXNaibo
-
@dotshlash very true.. and the first to be truely multi platform, supports all OS, on desktop and mobile. not other browser can say that
-
@dotshlash I find FF suits my needs and is open source I will always chose open source software unless there is a substantial advantage
-
@loug It renders faster, it has spatial keyboard navigation, the menus are more logical and for my taste it looks better :)
-
@bazzawill I was meeting one of the opera guys flying to Austria, and he said that the only reason opera isn't oss is the obfuscated sources
-
@cyberkiller Hehe, yeah, I guess so, it's reasonably big here in Norway, and in Eastern Europe though from what I got o
-
@dotshlash Note to our customers: As a basic precaution against leaking parts of Opera's source code, all Opera binaries are "obfuscated"
-
@dotshlash what does opera have to do with linux?
-
@dotshlash from opera's web site obfuscated sources are to prevent the source being discovered sound tho they are vermontly against oss
-
@bazzawill If they would be against us it wouldn't run on linux, reason for the obfuscated code is that it's made to run on everything..
-
@dotshlash Not necessarily they are open to running on many platforms as say adobe flash is also but they don't understand OSS
-
@dotshlash I can't see why they need to obfuscate code to run on multiple platforms firefox does not
-
@bazzawill ff is also dog slow.. Well about understanding oss, they have a bit to go.. But it's the best for me, so therefore I use it ;)
-
@dotshlash FF5 has got a lot faster than previous versions it's certainly fast enough for me
-
@dotshlash I have no problems in you using what is best for you. I am just telling you why it is not best for me which is what you asked :)
-
@bazzawill It's still after both chromium and opera to render on my slow pc though, and it's focusing way too much on their windows version
-
@bazzawill Yeah, I know, no hard feelings man ;) I get your point of view :)
-
@dotshlash i liked opera but preferred ff and chrome. Perhaps it appeals strongly to a minority. Will give it another go now you mention it.
-
@mcnalu It doesn't have that many extensions, but it's fast, and does things the way I at least like it, might be that I'm strange though :p
-
@dotshlash appeals to strange people? Is for me then. Do you use the mobile version?
-
@mcnalu I don't use the net on phones, I have a feature phone as they call it :P use it only for calling and sms, but it's nice for slow con
-
@mcnalu nections, at least the normal version is :)
-
@loug Sounds like a good idea :)
-
@flywheel Opera Mini accounts for 91% of visits to my sites. Big huge in Kenya. Also, hi, how are you doing?
-
@dotshlash Same for me, not FOSS - no ty! Especially when there is a clear alternative.
-
@zapadlo For me it depends a bit, it works better for me, about 95% of what I use is foss, it might be that opera just got me hooked :p
-
@nj3ma Cool, really like OM, use it on Maemo - Hi there, the sun is shining and I a day of - couldn't be better -
-
@nj3ma and how about you ?
-
