@jwildeboer Dude.... I told you before: I will once I can afford it. :)
-
@fabsh I know. But knowing who's your daddy might be important to others ;-)
-
@jwildeboer Hey, I'm saying a lot of good things about RHEL on LO. People already are telling me they think I'm a shill for RH.
-
@fabsh re: shill - you're doing great job as impartial voice on net for all things 'nux... just be careful not to be taken in by cliques.
-
@fabsh Hm. I guess we don't pay you enough? ;-)
-
@jwildeboer Why not show some community efforts besides !Fedora and provide a self-supported subscription to LO?
-
@fabsh As long as your daddy isn't GoDaddy everything's fine! :D
-
@jwildeboer No. As in nothing. LOL! :D
-
@vinzv We actually did have a sponsorship offer from GoDaddy way back but refused for ethical reasons.
-
@esdaniel I am constantly trying to avoid that, believe me. It's hard but I'm always on guard.
-
@fabsh Sounds a bit inaccurate to me.
-
@jwildeboer Wow. Yes, I'd definitely would want that! I was always just reluctant to flat out ask. I'm poor but I try not to be a beggar.
-
@vinzv Well, at the time they were known to cancel hosting for people who exercised their free speech rights. I didn't like that much.
-
@fabsh Did you research that fact? ;-)
-
@fabsh So why not get a subscription for rhel6.1 and do a review on LO?
-
@vinzv Yes, I did. Very unlike myself, I know. ;)
-
@vinzv Yeah, I'd definitely review it. Moving the servers over would be scary but very interesting, I think.
-
@mxc what do you mean, on your server or something happened today?
-
@jwildeboer @fabsh would prefer if redhat followed the Ubuntu's philosophy. Supported=community Easier to get customers to start using it.
-
@ruiseabra was just saying we moving to scientific linux instead of centos as they follow upstream more speedily. Centos 6 out today though.
-
@mxc ack but centos is really making me worry... con against scientific is that they don't assure full compatibility with rhel.
-
@mxc Redhat is self sufficient though. That might help with that argument on their side.
-
@ruiseabra thats why we are also considering Ubuntu and or Debian as an alternative. Ubuntu can get commercial support too so maybe...
-
@skreech2 - true but their products are getting expensive.
