     @corewarrior: I deleted the spotify folder in both .config and .cache and then it works as long as you don't turn on offline playlists.

     @computerphile: thanks. I didn't have anything in .config. I deleted the spotify directory in .cache, but is still failing. I'll try later

     @corewarrior: Does it work at all if you try running it as root (or any other user than your regular one)?

     @computerphile: it generates a crash dump which I've sent off to the development team. Crashes no matter who runs it, including root
