    if I plug my headphones in to my netbook, I lose all sound, but pulling it out makes it come back anybody else have this issue? !ubuntu 9.10

      @cabrey you may need to enable the headphones checkbox in your volume control thing

      @dandart where would that be? I don't see anything with headphone in it. remember this is karmic alpha 3 with the new sound ui

      @cabrey oh whoops. sound ui eh? tried going into the sound control panel or using alsamixer? also check the headphones on something else

      @cabrey This type of bug is very dependent on which hardware you have - please run "ubuntu-bug alsa-base" - this will collect your h/w inf

      @dandart found a headphones level in alsamixer but didn't do anything :(
