@mairin I think it means that we went a long long way since Linux GUI was ridiculous and they stayed (for legacy reasons) more or less same.

@mairin I would blame it on being very used to something different; I feel that every time I start working on a new environment =)

@mairin that you're used to something different. Mac users feel the same way when trying Windows or Linux.

@mairin Same with me. I find rich GUI interfaces (#gnome 3, iPad 2) inscrutable. Branded by CLI in the 1980's, can't change. !lo

@alisonchaiken, the beauty of most GNU systems regardless of the interface's that a full-featured CLI will exist no matter how the GUI look.

@alisonchaiken, that's why I don't think it's accurate to compare GNOME 3 beauty with iPod oversimplification.

@osamak That's actually one thing I like about #Gnome3 vs #Gnome2: incremental move towards tiled window management and groups is CLI-frndly

@osamak Point taken, but I have no interest in #gnome3, so I switched to #kde instead. De gustibus, etc. #kde more beautiful and more usabl

@osamak Beauty of Unix systems is "everything is a file" paradigm and the pipes it allows: earliest level separation in CS: genius. !lo
