@mairin I think it means that we went a long long way since Linux GUI was ridiculous and they stayed (for legacy reasons) more or less same.

@alisonchaiken, the beauty of most GNU systems regardless of the interface's that a full-featured CLI will exist no matter how the GUI look.

@alisonchaiken, that's why I don't think it's accurate to compare GNOME 3 beauty with iPod oversimplification.
