According to !Ubuntu devs, the search thing is just to see if a google page or the search box in the corner get more use. Also: alpha-only.

@janc: Quite possibly. Mozilla is doing a ton of research into that same fact so I imagine they're working with Mozilla on usability.

@lunisneko As far as Im concerned theres no problem. Dont use the firefox from the repos and everythings fine.

@furicle I don't believe Google custom search is very customizable style-wise, so they probably *couldn't* add an explanation to the results
