     @bkuhn First version of BSD was released in '77, right? BSD's important in Free Software (though not as much in Linux) history.

     @patrickniedzielski, right, that was my point. If #Corbet was giving a history of *Linux* not sure why it dates back to 1976. Agreed re: BSD

     Not just for !GNU reasons, IMO it's !problematic to conflate !Linux history w/software freedom history. Seems such is happening at !LinuxCon
