!virtualbox and !bsd don't mix :(
about 9 months ago from web-
@ajpaulson : Of course they do. :)
-
@schaiba well Dragonfly didn't install well (livecd was ok) and virtualbox has no additions available for BSD guests :s I'll try netbsd next
-
@ajpaulson : From experience {Free,Open,Net}BSD work just fine as vbox guests.
-
@schaiba Thanks, that's good to know.
-
@ajpaulson : Maybe I spoke too soon:after a VBox update, I started getting strange compile errors on NetBSD, usually bad hardware-like.YMMV
-
@schaiba 2 years ago when I last tried it was a trial and error job for the setup, now it seems to suggest VM settings.
-
@ajpaulson : Here it's more recent:a month ago I ran {Open,Net}BSD -CURRENT on vbox and after the latest update, things went amok.
-
@schaiba hmm I'll let you know how I get along with my attempt when I have the spare time/bandwidth (stupid Canadian ISPS)
-
@ajpaulson : Thank you. I will try OpenBSD-current myself and let you know.
-
@ajpaulson : FreeBSD-current compiles and works ok on VBOX 4.1 .
-
@ajpaulson : Please let me know how that goes.
-
@schaiba the install is easy, seriously easy. I'm using pkgsrc to install binaries for the setup. quicker than compiling, no errors so far
