Does the search interface in !KDE #Dolphin really require #Strigi? I'd imagine it would still be able to search by rating or tag.

@muep To search by rating or tag, it needs nepomuk. That's the whole point of nepomuk.

@rajitsingh I have #Nepomuk still enabled due to various things requiring it but #Strigi is disabled due to resource use.

@muep Strigi is the indexer for Nepomuk, so if it's not enabled then the nepomuk index would not be updated.

@rajitsingh I thought that it could still search from the #Nepomuk db by the data I put there because #Bangarang can too.

@rajitsingh But I guess that would be bad UI, giving surprisingly few results because most of the stuff here is not tagged.

@muep It can search from the nepomuk repo, but if strigi is disabled, the db won't be updated.

@muep only search by rating & tags require strigi. Dolphin defaults to kfind if strigi is disabled IIRC since kde 4.6
