anyone used !kde (with akonadi) on a system with nfs mounted home directories? last time I heard akonadi does not work with nfs cus of mysql
-
@whilo Its a shame though I was really looking to Deploying KOLAB, Owncloud and kdepim at my organisation :/
-
@bigbrovar use a centralized mysql server for kdepim in that case, or put it on a local partition (laptops, e.g). how is documented online.
-
@aseigo I would consider the centralized mysql server. although I would prefer a setup that is as simple as possible. thanks
-
@bigbrovar well, my last status was: http://ur1.ca/53296 !kde people didn't seem to use home on #nfs. problem is #nfs locking ->#glusterfs?
bigbrovar likes this. -
@aseigo Wouldn't it make much more sense anyways to have the Akonadi DB at /var/cache as it is more considered to be a cache than a storage?
-
@bigbrovar I know at least one school where it works
-
@bulldog98 I don't doubt the possibility. Just the how its possible. The school I know had to disable akonadi altogether
-
@bigbrovar they use debian stable -> so no need of akonadi
