Does anyone know why #rms doesn't use a browser, but instead uses a daemon and wget? !gnu !linux !fsf

@viperchief He says he doesn't have time for much web browsing. Also, I don't think most browsers are OS to his standards. !gnu !linux !fsf
-
@viperchief i would have thought that #rms would have used an #emacs based browser.
-
@10thaperag What about lynx or links? !gnu !fsf
-
@jaschon a while back he mentioned that he uses wget, mail and a daemon to fetch what pages he wants
-
@jaschon Apologies. He also said that he won't use browsers "for personal reasons"

@viperchief #rms is only occasionaly online. its a matter of efficiency: idle seconds add up fast. !gnu !linux !fsf
-
@sleepynate lol That would crush his entire life to learn he's a century behind.
-
@viperchief Got me. I think he just doesn't use a computer much. The wget process lets him get the page and read it later when he has time.
-
@viperchief rms uses wget, etc. because character based browsers are not much fun and require a lot of resources on his 10 yr old laptop :)
