@jonkulp reminds me of K3b implementing Bluray burning to spec before the first commerical Burner shipped. Hooray for open!

@jpope Did you grab it with the QR code? I just checked the market. Both scanners want to read my browser history & bookmarks! huh?

@nybill @jpope indeed, that's why I've yet to install one.

@johnnynull Most of this ap access makes me second guess. We Linux people like to stay on top of what our machines are doing.

@nybill glad I'm not the only one. I'm horrified how people install shit with reckless abandon.

@nybill I think the inability for the user to revoke access in a granular fashion is the biggest problem with the android platform.

@johnnynull I keep saying we are becoming the "old guys" of the net. Kids these days grew up with tech and use it like an appliance.

@kevingranade That I wouldn't mind! The fact that I'm locked out of half of the phone keeps me leery.

@nybill Yep, QR code. I've always used Barcode Scanner without an issue. Not sure what it's permissions are at the moment though.

    • nybill nybill

@jonkulp I have to grab it yet. I either need to bite the bullet on a QR scanner. Or look for the APK and push it to the phone.

@johnnynull Looking at Barcode Scanner, it does need bookmarks & contacts. But, that's because it can create a code for someone else to ..

@jonkulp It's quite handy. Wait until you are at a store or resturant and see a code. :)

@nybill Do you use Chrome? If so, 'Chrome to Phone' is a way to easily do that. There may be something for Firefox too, not too sure though.

@jpope Well, Iron. Same thing, less google. :P I'll go look that up.

@jonkulp As @johnnynull and I have been discussing. The Ap permissions keep us leery. Why does it need to see my bookmarks and browser history
