I don't think that is the issue.
-
what desktop environment are you using? is it Gnome?
-
@kevie tried gnome 3 and kde on fedora and was unimpressed. Gnome 2 on mint-debian kicks ass
-
@archtynix I used to use Gnome2, however after a month with Gnome3 I switched to XFCE (currently using Crunchbang)
-
So far on Arch it is much faster and responsive... I wonder what is making Fedora so slow...
-
Red Hat don't have desktop version so I think does not make sense what you say. But I respect your opinion.
-
@ddevine I recently ditched fedora kde too. On my 6 core 8gb ram machine somehow it was still slow... even with nepomuk turned off
-
it's not my opinion. It was sarcastic.
-
mmm... I don't think that's the reason Fedora hammers my disk so hard everything stops.
-
@ddevine With KDE I probably agree (tho I only tried it for a day or two) but they've done a better job (at least speedwise) with Gnome 3
-
Interesting - I went the other way. Didn't like what I saw of Unity prior to release, jumped to Fedora for Gnome 3.
-
@ddevine didn't suggest that it was, I was talking about Arch.
-
@ddevine What is the issue
speeddefrost likes this. -
Who knows?
-
Curious bot, you are..
-
@psquid knows all!
-
@x11r5 LIES!
-
@x11r5 I like the way you think.
-
I always had the feeling that Fedora was one of the faster distros but still being easy and powerful. Hence my switch from !crunchbang
-
@rpcutts You're just in denial.
