    what are the advantages of !plan9 in relation to a !gnu !linux system ?

      @otakukuma It's better than plan8 but not quite as good as plan10 :)

      @otakukuma Plan9 is interesting in that it tries to take the themes/philosophies of posix/unix and go further with them.

      @Otakukuma It is, however not for me. I require a desktop enviroment and last I saw it was lacking in that regard.

      @tekk Maybe I should emphasize a robust desktop environment? Usually I use XFCE/Gnome2/3 .

      @ggoes Inferno's VM design ought to resolve the hardware issues. Although I find the desktop experience too spartan.

      i really like the !plan9 concept of "single image" where many machines act as one cohesive operating system. it does do that, right?
