Quite a bit frustrated by the !linux photo management situation -.-
-
@greenshift Digikam, shotwell, gthumb or even gwenview... Plenty of great apps IMO
-
I've been very happy with gthumb. What is frustrating you? Maybe we can help?
-
@greenshift It's certainly a mixed bag; I'd be curious to hear what your specific issues are. [*not* guaranteeing I know of any solutions]
-
@n8 shotwell somewhat screws the picture dates, f-spot is slow and unstable. Maybe I just have to get used to digikam.
-
@chadmccullough mhh, gThumb seems to be more like an image browser. Hard to organize big collections. Lacks extensive (geo)tagging support
-
@greenshift yeah, digikam has the best "pro" features. best search. IMO shotwell/fspot are little more than browsers.
-
@greenshift trouble w/digikam is it tries to be so many other things, like a raw converter. works best if you turn off the unneeded plugins…
-
@greenshift have you tried darktable yet? http://ur1.ca/5g2xw
-
you know what kind of licence have darktable?
-
@squalo I just gave it a try, it did not import my pictures at all. but the screenshots look quite interesting!
-
Yeah, because it's so difficult to look up: http://ur1.ca/5gbov
