I guess no more !ubuntu for my duel atom. Nothing like clicking on an app and a min later it launches. !xubuntu @debian?

@failedvegan I'll tell you, LXDE is smoking fast. Even Firefox is near-instant, even with a ton of add-ons.

@failedvegan Xubuntu is excellent. I'd council Mint LXDE over Lubuntu.

@failedvegan not if you use a wireless internet connection. lxde/lubuntu have no decent wirless software available.

I was also trying to stay with Ubuntu for Ubuntu One. I keep many config files on it like my .emacs ssh_config and others.

Network manager and wireless works just fine in Lubuntu and !Debian lxde

sudo apt-get install lubuntu-desktop , then log out and choose lubuntu/lxde from the login menu

That doesn't sound right, even my Pandaboard doesn't have that sort of issue. Are you using unity-2d? Dual core atoms should be all right.

@mariuz lxde on ubuntu has no wireless software to speak of, I know from experience.
