@silner shuttleworth won't tell you till you have handed over the soul of your first born
-
@silner I suppose that sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop can do job?!
-
@silner after installing xfce, or the xubuntu de packages, log out of gnome, and then at the bottom right choose xubuntu or xfce, and login.
-
@r7 @firusvg @capngloval Well I sorted it, but like many things I try. I try so many things I can't tell which one worked - terrible tester!
-
what @capngloval said should be correct and will remain the default until you change it again.
-
Didn't seem 2 work at 1st, but it's OK now. Can't see myself changing back. I said I'd try Unity for at least a week, but I've had enough :(
-
@silner Depends on which version you use, but mostly there's a Settings or Session button at the login screen.
-
@vinnl Yeah, for some reason it was stuck on Unity but after 2 restarts it myteriously came unstuck and now I get Xubuntu as default - ..
-
@vinnl .. result
-
@silner Ah, good :)
-
@silner I agree - i dont know what all the fuss about Unity is.. its is annoying. Netbook Remix was bad enough..now its invading the desktop
