love the ability to connect via ssh in dolphin by typing fish://user@server - just wish it was the more sane ssh, not fish. !kde

@djotaku I was trying to do that just y'day! thanks for the tip :)
-
@djotaku sftp://user@server
-
@tioduke neat!
-
@djotaku use sftp://?
-
Just wondering, what's _not_ sane about FISH?
-
it uses a perl script to relay information. Nearly invisible on UNIX systems but not truly "sane"
-
Right, but from the POV of a user… if it works, why would it not be sane?
-
@samatjain if I want to do ssh why would I think about fish?
-
fi(le) sh(ell) would be my guess *shrugs*
-
If you want a SSH (shell), why do you think about fish? If you want file transfer, what's wrong it? AFAIK it's faster throughput than SFTP
-
@samatjain /me likes fish
-
@samatjain it isn't faster than sftp, where did you get that from?
-
Apparently, no longer true (KDE 4 onwards) http://identi.ca/url/56551561
-
@afiestas opciones: 1: parezco un pez 2: me gusta el pescado 3: me agrada el shell fish para mi consola
-
@samatjain Lots of things work that are not particularly sane. Video management by MPAA comes to mind.
