     I know what !Linux technically is, but colloquially it means something different. Maybe a !linuxkernel group would allieviate some confusion

     Linux [or more correctly GNU/Linux] is a generic term referring to Unix-like computer operating systems based on the Linux kernel.

     @csolisr of course, see Debian GNU/kFreeBSD, Debian GNU/Hurd or Archhurd. Besides, GNU is so much more than coreutils package or some utils

     @csolisr Neither, the combination of both+other things, does. But GNU is so much more than just these "core utilities".
