    Because the file I originally download won't include any changes I make to it.

      @fontana, I think !Debian #ftpmasters control was hidden in plain sight but is now fully documented on URL I linked to. #transparent != good

      @fontana, I've been tolerant of !Debian #non-free for at least a decade, although I didn't say so publicly until a few years ago.

      @fontana, meanwhile, can you tell us when !RedHat #RHEL will go back to making it !Linux tree readily available in #Git like !Debian does?

      I didn't say it was a !GPL violation (see http://ur1.ca/3gxju ) & neither is anything @fontana complained about for !Debian.

      @fontana, are you saying that !RedHat distributes no proprietary software whatsoever? If so, you can stay on that high horse you're on. :)

      @fontana,on serious note,I meant !Debian's use of #nonfree for semi-FaiF or otherwise license-questionable stuff;Different issue than #Skype

      @mcepl, some !Debian folks ague #nonfree is not "in Debian" They see it as:"providing disk space and URLs to those who like proprietary crap

      I need non-free for a binary firmware package, iwlwifi. Nevertheless, Debian is getting better at cornering non-free software, which is good

      As I said, I'm no lover of !Debian #nonfree. The interesting use is for intra-community license fixes, not full-on proprietary distribution.

      @fontana, I don't have lower standards. Note: I'm making a distinction (that I must've been unclear about) btw diff uses of !Debian #nonfree

      @bkuhn I think fedora is stronger there then. nonfree? out of the repo, not to some special nonfree repo

      @fontana, I was specifically thinking of items that moved from !Debian main to #nonfree due to an introduced problem. Serious pressure there

      Okay; I'll bite: Check out gle_COPYING.src in PyOpenGL-3.0.0-2.1.el6.src.rpm.

      I was referring to that IBM license. It doesn't appear to permit distribution of modified versions (point 4)
