Finding !sr traffic in my timeline distracting. Considering unsubscribing, and just checking group timeline before reporting spam.
-
@rw In some clients, like heybuddy, you can filter dents. I just added a filter for #spamreports.
-
@sazius So the "filter" works by directing all #spamreport output to /dev/null as it were? /cc !icurse @psquid @reality
-
@rw Well, yes, it simply doesn't show dents that match the filtered strings. I believe #identicurse has similar functionality.
-
@rw I just checked, !identicurse has a "filters" variable in config.json which is a list of regex's to filter.
-
@rw so e.g. "filters": [ "!spamreport" ], should work I believe (haven't tested it)

@rw Now that i used [host.example
-
@rw True, I might have looked at the code before I figured out the syntax. But I sent you example as reply earlier if I'm not mistaken.
-
@x11r5 Did you dent get truncated by mistake, or ...?
-
@rw Looking forward to that ibm license. It doesn't get is that you did
-
@x11r5 Your last 2 dents to me have emerged as nonsensical statements <shrug> FYI

Actually, by default it just does straight string-matching. But there’s also a “filter_mode” option which can be set to “regex” for that. :)
-
@x11r5 Okay, I'll finish the other beer. And we'll both be glad it is gone.
-
@sazius Thanks again, works quite well technically, but ultimately fails in this context (can't check group sr as they too are filtered)
-
@rw You could just check that special case with the web site, though, and use the client for all other things?
-
@sazius Good thinking, thanks for the suggestion, will ponder that :-)

Digging this back up, a note to self: add some filter exceptions (such as not applying !FOO filters when tab is Group:FOO).
