@laurelrusswurm afternoon o/
-
that means... waving hello ...?
-
@laurelrusswurm yep
-
@laurelrusswurm HEY! How be ye?
-
@whistlewright I'm struggling with too much to do and too little time ... ak ... how are you holding up in the blur of December
-
@sandersch season's greetings you festive android, you :)
-
@laurelrusswurm I am thankfully beginning to feel better. I thought I was dying yesterday. Colds are no fun when you can't have cough syrup
-
Hey, did you finish your #Nanowrimo? Will we get a sequel to Inconstant Moon?
-
@whistlewright when you say "cough syrup" do you mean over-the-counter meds or do you refer to the single malt variety?
-
@laurelrusswurm the otc kind... I am asthmatic and allergic to most kinds of drugs. I have to be careful
-
@whistlewright I hear you. Though not myself asthmatic, I am swimming in allergies & my thyroid precludes my use of many of the same.
-
People like to read sequels and series. Janet Evanovich just published "Explosive Eighteen" and it's on the NY Times best seller list.
-
@stav Although !InconstantMoon worked out, I'll never write another novel with so many characters (as much time choreographing as writing)
-
@laurelrusswurm the big one for me is aspirin. That is a hospital visit everytime. Most of the time a handful of benadr…
-
@stav Which is not to say some characters may not guest in later works. *lightbulb* Maybe have one each in a cameo in each subsequent book?
-
@stav Yes, I am aware of that. Perhaps at some point I'll do a series, just not now. I loved JE's first ten or so, but they are slipping
-
@whistlewright I overused aspirin for migraines as a child. Can't take it now either. :(
-
Is it the money trap? (chortle)
-
@stav The problem is that a series that sinks into formula gets stale. Which is why very few series hold up indefinitely.
-
good afternoon!!
-
@stav if done too many times, it becomes predictable and boring. TV eg. Inability to evolve: Moonlighting ... Evolved & going strong: Dexter
-
I agree. Nothing more predictably boring than reading a 300 page predictable formulaic book.
