@laurelrusswurm oh, krita(kde paint program) is more ps-like in interface. if you can find a repo for unstable gimp it has 1 window mode too

@tekk I want to reduce pictures to have a series of rectangles for face of xmas card; 1st 3 scaled, now it will only let me scale the page.

@tekk um. do you mean get krita ... then i have to do something with gimp? unstable? argh.

@laurelrusswurm no, I thought it as an issue with missing the single window interface, which krita has and gimp unstable does too

its okay, no support, i was just venting. that's what happens, it makes me think its okay and then the ground shifts.

@tekk ? are you saying gimp unstable is a different program than gimp?

@laurelrusswurm it's still gimp, but it has extra features(including an optional single window interface like ps)

@tekk it is just so frustrating. I keep having to go back to gthumb to crop because I can't figure out how to make it work in gimp.

@tekk it isn't the single window, its that the tools seem to behave differently for no reason i can figure out.

@tekk What I don't get is why things work one way some times and not other times. DLing Krita now.

Cropping is one of the things I actually know how to do in the GIMP. I find 'Image->Crop to Selection' works pretty well.
