Jegus, newsbeuter is sex in console-feed-reader form. #optimal
-
@psquid it's quite marvelous and can link to a tt-rss instance as well. !newsbeuter
-
I now have 2 permanent windows in screen, with mutt and newsbeuter in, respectively. Just need to finally settle on an IRC client for #3. :)
-
irssi gives me a sad. Most likely I’ll end up going with weechat, but I’m still searching, since I have yet to find one that’s just right.
-
@psquid @parlementum duh irssi winning
-
@reality missiles if truth and tiger blood. Duh
-
@psquid well it runs excellent in screen and it has a lot of plugins :)
-
@psquid may I ask why you're still using GNU screen? It's no longer maintained, and the alternative (tmux) has some really nice features
-
Because screen works, and it’s installed pretty much everywhere.
-
@psquid I have to disagree with it working, but then I was doing things that screen was never meant to do :P
-
For my purposes, I just want something which will keep running when I’m not connected to it, and provide “tabs” for even basic terminals.
-
If I needed to be able to put more than one shell on screen at once, I’d switch to tmux in a second, as screen’s lack of v-split is bizarre.
-
Or maybe I mean h-split? Whichever one involves dividing the screen from top to bottom, leaving two tall, thin sub-screens.
-
@psquid my main reason for moving to tmux was being able to attach multiple clients to one session and not having to remember all the ..
-
.. weird -Drrghsdfgsf to make screen reattach after a lost connection #notrantingatall
-
Hm, I’ve never tried multiple clients to one session, but I’m 99% sure my current alias’d args (so I can just type ‘screen’) would ..
-
.. detach the previous one, so I don’t suspect it would work. Again, I have no need, but if I did: tmux. In a second.
-
@psquid how has your moosemas been then?
-
So-so. Nice enough in itself, but I’m currently working through a minor money hiccup (nothing major, no need for others to worry about it).
-
@psquid that doesn't sound like a fun thing to deal with on a day like this. Do you need to borrow a tenner? :P
-
Eh, it worried me until I’d worked it all out, but thankfully boils down to nothing more than that I have ~£10 less in my budget ..
-
.. than I thought I had. That’s less that I can potentially spend on something I want, but no financial disaster. :)
-
So yes, strictly speaking, borrowing a tenner would be a (very temporary) solution of sorts, but one I don’t need (or want). ;p
