Decided to take the plunge and use Calligra as my primary office suite - LibreOffice no longer resides on my system. !KDE !Chakra :-)
-
@rajitsingh I also try to do this step, but some documents are not displayed correctly in calligra
-
@rajitsingh I'm using both for testing Calligra. I think it has small bugs to fix before full operational on production
-
@sredna KOffice 2.3.3 correctly displays black-on-white documents with dark-on-light system colors, which !LibreOffice doesn't do (in !KDE)
-
a .docx I received is unreadable in !LibreOffice 3.4.4 with dark !KDE colors. In !KOffice 2.3.3, UI is dark, content nicely black-on-white
-
@dhraak that's actually more a fault of the creator of the document, setting the text colour, but not the background. I prefer my docs dark.
-
@dhraak but if you use "auto" for both bg and fg, I get my dark, all the rest gets their white.
-
@rysiek Yeah, same argument for webpages, but shouldn't the editor/browser/whatever deal with dark FG, no BG set more gracefully?
-
@dhraak and how do you suppose they should do that? with all the (visible and invisible) layers, all the styles, etc? :)

While !Calligra is already pretty good, it's still not released. You might want to test saving before using it as your production tool.
