Soo easy that it's difficult! Am I the only one who finds it easier to work with !Linux and even Windows than OSX? !GNU

@rajitsingh you aren't alone :)
-
@rajitsingh: osx is almost unusable, windows feels like having a hand tied behind your back, and Gnome3 is just amazing (imo)

Depends whether I am suffering through GNOME3 or not.
-
@samatjain hahaha!
-
@samatjain still.. GNOME3/Shell is still the best DE on any class of os... OSX is just the worst..
-
@gegoxaren Best is subjective. Worst is common opinion. Looks good for sure though.
-
I have never worked with OSX longer than a hour but GNU/Linux is really simpler to use than Windows.
-
@adiblol simpler? In what way? I find it more useful, but not simpler.
-
@douglasawh typing in terminal is simpler than pointing and clicking
-
@rajitsingh I went from gnome 2 to 3 and the user friendlyness was 10x better... My opinion...
-
you have access to terminal in Windows (PowerShell) and OS X. I suppose you are entitled to feel the ones available for Linux are superior.
-
well, super shell does not do much men the filesystem layout is fucked up, (Drive letters is just the worst idea ever).
-
and OS X has the UI problem: Global Menu, and then screwing with UNIX philosophy. Not to say that Darwin is a bad Kernel or XNU is bad.
-
Neither on Windows nor on OS X you have package manager like apt, yum, pacman etc.
-
Well Appstore is coming to OSX and something the like to Windows 8. but then again "Welcome to 1999, Apple and Microsoft".
-
@adiblol False, you can choose to use Fink or MacPorts on OS X, just like you can choose to use yast, yum, aptitude, etc. on GNU/Linux
-
But Fink isn't included by default. And uncontested argument - OS X isn't free software.
-
yes, it is free software. The assertion was it was *easier*. For Netflix users or for any other such unsupported app, Linux is not "easier"
-
that is not to say I support the use of Windows or OSX. I'm just being realistic.
-
@adiblol and soon there will be a single Apple-approved "app store", with only Apple-approved "apps".
-
...and non-mobile Apple devices will be locked as currently are iPhone, iPad, iPod...
